Bodenheimer, who has owned a home in New Canaan, turns 58 on Friday. The former president of ESPN Inc. was born May 6, 1958.
He had been president of ESPN since Nov. 19, 1998, and of the former ABC Sports since March 3, 2003.
As president of ESPN, he launched: ESPNHD, ESPN2HD,ESPN Plus, ESPN PPV, ESPN3, ESPN Motion, ESPNU, ESPN Deportes.
The Sports Business Journal named Bodenheimer as the most influential person of 2008 on a list of 50 people.
On Jan. 1, 2012, Bodenheimer moved into the position of executive chairman of ESPN.
