NEW CANAAN, Conn. - Consider Couture For A Cause a fashionable success.
The fashion show fundraiser hosted May 4 by the Young Womens League of New Canaan was a hit, according to officers with the local organization. More than 200 people attended the show at the Loading Dock in Stamford, which raised nearly $20,000 that will be used to pay for league grants to area nonprofit organizations. The league will give grants totaling $75,000.
We are so grateful to the many people that made this event possible, said Amy Fields, a co-chairwoman of the event. More than a dozen New Canaan shops loaned clothing for the fashion show and other stores provided make-up and hairstyling. All of our models looked gorgeous, Fields added.
League President Amy Burger, herself a model at the show, said people throughout New Canaan were talking about the looks shown by the stores.
We were glad to help our retailers show people what amazing clothing you can get right here in New Canaan, she said.
