County Business Leaders Honored As Good Scouts

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – New Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine and local businessmen Jay Forgotson and Joseph Rucci Jr. have been honored by the Connecticut Yankee Council of the Boy Scouts of America with the Good Scout Award.

Forgotson is CEO of the Bank of New Canaan, the Bank of Fairfield and the bank holding company, BNC Financial Group. A longtime advocate for urban education, Forgotson has served on the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, the Kennedy Center of Bridgeport and the Stamford Chamber of Commerce. He was a Boy Scout for nearly five years.

Rucci is a founding partner of the Rucci, Burnham and Carta law firm. He is a director and chairman of the governance committee of the AmeriCares Foundation and is a director of the Pear Tree Point School Foundation in Darien.

Bobby Valentine is a former Major League Baseball player, manager, ESPN analyst and director of public safety for the city of Stamford. Valentine was recently named as the manager of the Red Sox, his first managerial job since a stint in Japan.
