NEW CANAAN, Conn. The Bank of New Canaan will celebrate its 10th anniversary throughout June, complete with ice cream and donations to local organizations.
The bank has plenty to be happy about it is the second-ranked bank in town with 20 percent of deposit market share for two years in a row, Bank President Heidi DeWyngaert said. The bank was named the No. 1 community bank in the state in the Connecticut Record's annual poll. Its holding company, BNC Financial Group, reached $524 million in assets at the end of April.
"As we celebrate 10 years in New Canaan, we are grateful for all of the relationships that we have developed and the support that we receive from the community," DeWyngaert said.
As part of the party, the bank will donate $50 to a local not-for-profit organization with every new free checking account opened during June. "This is just another way that we can give back to the community," DeWyngaert said.
Other events scheduled include an "Ice Cream for the Community Day" on June 2 as bank staff hands out free ice cream and popsicles at Mead and Waveny parks and other locations around town.
