Margaret Jean Marshall, age 49, of New Canaan, was charged on Friday, Feb. 2, after she was stopped on Cherry Street for driving without a front license plate, said Lt. Marc DeFelice, of the New Canaan Police.
DeFelice said that while speaking with Marshall, the officer detected an odor of alcohol and signs of impairment.
Based on an investigation, probable cause was established and Marshall was placed under arrest and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to display plates.
Marshall refused to submit to the breath tests, DeFelice said.
She was released on a $300 bond.
