Author Mike Turpin at New Canaan Library: 7 p.m. Turpin is the author of T-Rex By The Tail. For anyone who has wondered whether todays parents are indeed a more evolved or devolved version of those who preceded us, this eulogy to the last great age of Jurassic parenting will have you feeling right at home. Silvermine School of Art Faculty Show: Noon to 5 p.m. The Silvermine School of Art will have its faculty show on display through Sept. 16 at Sara Victoria Hall. Showcasing the current works of the distinguished artists/teachers of the Silvermine School of Art, this exhibition represents every style and medium including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and silversmithing. Full Tilt exhibit at Silvermine Arts Center: Noon to 5 p.m. Bob Gregsons "Full Tilt" begs the question of being off-kilter or askew. The walls of the Vassos Gallery are filled with plywood constructions, all or parts of which are tilted, which visually energizes the space. The floor space is filled with maquettes for sculptures with panels that lean to the side. Silvermine Art Gallery, 1037 Silvermine Road.
