Friday, Aug. 30

New Work by Artist Tauba Auerbach: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. An exhibition featuring the work of  New York-based artist Tauba Auerbach for Night (1947- 2015), a “sculpture-in-residence” series presented on the Mies van der Rohe glass coffee table inside the Glass House. The physical form of the work resembles that of a gnomon, the vertical shadow-casting part of a sundial. Tours cost $30 to $250. The Glass House, 199 Elm St., New Canaan.

Exhibition: New Works by Artist E.V. Day: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. New site-specific works by New York artist E.V. Day will be on view in Da Monsta gallery at the Glass House. Sunday, Sept. 1 Silvermine School of Art Faculty Exhibit: 6:30 p.m. An exhibition of Barbara Rothenberg, an accomplished painter, collagist and printmaker whose work linked a deep appreciation for nature, an emotionally sensitive use of color and a continually shifting exploration of abstract forms.
