Events include a live concert by Broadway Inspirational Voices, a community dinner, and two free events: “Songs of the Season” (instrumental arrangements of holiday classics) and a reading of Charles Dickens’ "A Christmas Carol" in the Grace Farms Library.
The schedule includes:
- Dec.13 at 7:30 p.m.: Michael McElroy and Broadway Inspirational Voices “Christmas Joy at the River.” Tickets $40 adults; $25 youth.
- Dec.15-19 from 1-2 p.m.: Live concert featuring more than 40 Broadway performers from shows including Les Miserables, Newsies, Wicked, The Lion King, Motown and Rent. They will sing gospel choir versions of Christmas classics. Admission is free.
- Dec. 18 from 6-8 p.m: .Community Dinner $10 adults; $6 kids, online registration Enjoy a special pre-holiday meal in the Commons featuring a cappella choral music by the New Canaan High School Madrigal Ensemble. Dinner will be followed by an optional conversation in the library with resettled refugees. Learn about the important work being done by the International Institute of Connecticut.
- Dec. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Charles Dickens: A Christmas Carol. The Grace Farms staff will read the novella out loud in the library throughout the day. Families can take a seat for any portion of the tale. Admission is free.
Visitors also can enjoy a peaceful time in the sanctuary listening to instrumental arrangements of Christmas music. A giving tree will provide opportunities to give gifts of Christmas joy to 100 refugees re-settled in Connecticut this year.
