NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The Phillip Johnson Glass House in New Canaan may be transparent, but it will be there for all town residents to see when free tours are held on Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Glass House, built between 1949 and 1995 by architect Philip Johnson, is a National Trust Historic Site located in New Canaan.

The 49-acre landscape includes 14 structures, including the Glass House, and features a permanent collection of 20th-century painting and sculpture, along with temporary exhibitions, according to the Glass House website.

Advance reservations are required and can be made through the Glass House website.
