The organization, run by substance abuse prevention expert Joyce Sixsmith of Westport, is 100 members strong and consists of local high schoolers who have committed to substance-free living.
"The First Annual Gala: Dance Party" will take place at the Country Club of New Canaan on Saturday, March 25. from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. It will honor New Canaan First Selectman Rob Mallozzi for his continued support of the group.
The Ram Council members, their parents, professionals in the field and the public are invited to attend.

The Ram Council’s mission is to raise awareness about substance abuse and to prevent it among youth.
The organization also provides alternative, substance-free activities for members as well as educational forums for the community at large.
Student members attend monthly dinner meetings to plan their informative events and also gather for beach nights, bowling and the like. Parent volunteers are part of the group’s adult component.
