New Canaan Preservation Alliance Holds 9th Annual Awards Ceremony

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – The New Canaan Preservation Alliance ninth annual awards ceremony will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the New Canaan Country Club.

Selected by a jury of preservationists and board members of the Alliance, the winners will be presented certificates of honor. There are three categories of winners: the Committee's Award for Rehabilitation, the Trustees' Award for Preservation and the President's Award for Preservation.

A representative from Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation will present an update on the state of preservation in Connecticut and New Canaan. This year, there are five awards, for residences ranging from an 18th century Federal style house to a 1950s mid-century modern house.

A sixth award, for preservation, will be presented to the New Canaan Land Trust for its restoration of nearly 400 feet of stone walls on Land Trust parcels.
