The Land Trust is responsible for protecting 311 acres throughout the town and will be opening up two parcels for hiking and the development of access ways and trails for the public, the release said. Other parts are wetlands or too fragile to open up the public, the release said.
“The entire Board is excited to be sharing these beautiful properties with the town,” Schipper said in the release.
The event, which is sponsored by the New Canaan Garden Club, is free to attend and will take place in the Sturgess Room at the New Canaan Nature Center, 144 Oenoke Ridge, at 10:30 a.m.
