NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Magical Music for Life Foundation will present a performance of its new family musical, “A Day in the Life of a Child: Musical Revue,” in support of Arts For Healing, on Saturday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at New Canaan Country School.
The new musical is both all-inclusive and interactive and includes songs that follow a day in the life of a young child.
The show brings to life Magical Music’s “A Day in the Life of a Child” album, their first album of songs developed with music therapists and other specialists for children with autism and special needs, as well as all children through elementary age.
Like Magical Music’s “The Adventures of Zak,” “Russell, the Hermit Crab” and “Two Little Snowflakes,” the show has fun lyrics and catchy tunes that both educate and entertain. There will be an opportunity to meet and greet the cast after the show.
“With clever lyrics and great melodies, these songs hold the Magic of Music in the way they bring important skills to every child,” said Karen Nisenson, founder and director of Arts For Healing.
Tickets are $10 per person and children under 5 are free. Tickets can be purchased online here; in New Canaan at Arts For Healing, 24 Grove Street; at New Canaan Toy Store, 94 Park St.; or at the door the day of the show.
Magical Music for LifeTM was founded in 1999 as a nonprofit foundation with a mission to “use music to better the lives of children.” Over the last 16 years, Magical Music has written three family musicals, which have brought positive messages to thousands of children and been used to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for pediatric charities. Its songs have been performed at both The White House and the United Nations.
The songs in the “A Day in the Life of a Child” album have been enjoyed the world over as a free download at their website here.
The New Canaan Country School is at 635 Frogtown Road.
