Whether you are a novice, seasoned hobbyist or simply curious about the technology, join Chris Burkhalter, former president of Country Squire Modelers, at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Curtis Gallery of the New Canaan Library for a fascinating and informative look at operating drones.

Burkhalter will provide a general introduction to the hobby, including multi-rotor aircraft safety. He will answer questions and concerns, as well as discuss aspects of the FAA's Modernization and Reform Act, which pertains to the use of radio-controlled aircraft. Burkhalter also will discuss the benefits of joining the Academy of Model Aircraft and local clubs.

There will be several models on display during the program, as well as an opportunity to do some actual flying using a computer simulator. This program is free and open to all ages, but you will need to register to attend as the audience is limited to 40.
