Colette Cote will teach the class, which will be held the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. Participants are required to have had at least three months of prior of French language lessons in order to participate.
Cote, of Darien, is a native of Connecticut and was raised in a bilingual household speaking both French and English. She has lived in France (Versailles, Paris, Caen, Grenoble) and worked for various multinational organizations, working in international PR, marketing and communications with European-wide responsibilities.
She returned Stateside in 2000 to leverage her international experience for a global PR agency, and subsequently provided translation services (media/journalist) in corporate settings for CEOs, senior leaders, and marketing departments.
Cote graduated from Colby College with a double major in French/Economics, including Junior Year Abroad studies at the Université de Paris and Université de Caen (Basse Normandie). As a student, she interned at the French Consulate in Boston (Affaires Culturelles) and was subsequently selected to partake in a cultural exchange program (Festival d’Avignon).
Cote tutors French to beginner and intermediate speakers of all ages, particularly speakers who are looking to continue/improve their conversational French. She oversees the French Language Exchange at the New Canaan Library.
