People have all of these different memberships, and sometimes they don’t even realize how much they are spending on fitness,” Sara Koch said.
Some residents go cycling in one town, to a gym in another and a yoga studio in another, Fedeli said. Their plan is to put it all those fitness options under one roof. And they are hiring some of the best instructors in each specialty, he said.
In addition to designating space and offering classes in different fitness areas, the entire 10,000-square-foot facility was constructed with acoustical ceiling, floor and wall treatments so every area is private.
“A cycling class may want really loud music and a Yoga class wants a really Zen experience,” Koch said of the different environments Oxygen will offer after it opens on May 20.
The fitness facility is also taking advantage of its location across the street from the train station. It will open at 5 a.m. and begin classes as early as 5:15 a.m. so people can work out and shower before the first train to New York City leaves at 6:20 a.m. People will also be able to get drinks at the “O” Juice Bar before leaving as well.
Other features include the fitness concierge program, a babysitting room with “green” toys and no television, and locker rooms with rain showers. It will also have some of the newest equipment available.
