“It’s been a blessing to be a part of this community for all these years,” said Chirnomula. “The new space will provide guests with a warm and inviting dining experience and, of course, our robust take-out and private party business will continue.”

Thali will feature one-night only specials such as Lobster Vindaloo, Hyderabadi Biryani, My Mother’s Goat Curry, Goan Prawn Balchao and Prawn Peri Peri, Kerala Fish Curry, and its signature lamb chops.

On Saturday night, the celebration continues with a limited seating reprise of Chef Chirnomula’s 2007 James Beard Dinner at 7 p.m.

Thali is the only Connecticut restaurant to be honored with two James Beard House Dinners (2007 and 2011). The James Beard Dinner is $145 per person. It includes a selection of wines from Chef Chirnomula and Thali's Cellars.

As a final, climactic bow, Thali will host "Brunch Without Limits" on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will star Thali chefs creating signature dishes and breads to order. The event will also feature music and an open bar. Sunday "Brunch without Limits" is $50 per person.

Chirnomula’s flagship Thali restaurant on Main Street in New Canaan opened its doors in 1998, introducing customers to a relatively new cuisine for the area and making its mark on local food enthusiasts.

The closing of the large restaurant space will give Chirnomula the opportunity to open a new, more intimate restaurant in New Canaan where customers will still be able to enjoy Thali’s elevated Indian cuisine.

The new location will be announced soon. For more information, visit  WWW.THALI.COM. Other locations in Thali in New Haven,Thali in Ridgefield, Thali Too in New Haven and Oaxaca Kitchen in New Haven.
