CT Man Who Fled After Nearly Crashing Into Cruiser Apprehended, Police Say A man who allegedly almost hit a Connecticut State trooper before fleeing a traffic stop in May has been arrested. State police in Hartford County arrested Christopher Nunez, age 32, of New Britain on Monday, Oct. 3 in connection with the Thursday, May 5 incident. According to state police, the incident took place around 3:30 p.m. on Whitehead Highway when a state trooper reported being nearly struck by a gray Toyota Highlander which merged into the trooper's lane without using a signal, according to an arrest warrant. CT State Trooper Suspended Pending Sexual Assault Investigation A Connecticut State Trooper has been taken off the force amid accusations of sexual assault. Constables in New Haven County were called to a home on Old Field Road in Southbury at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 27. When they arrived, an individual at the home made allegations against Jose Campos, a Connecticut State Trooper, according to police. On-Duty CT State Trooper Involved In Crash An on-duty Connecticut State trooper was found at fault after being involved in a crash with another vehicle. The crash took place in New Haven County around 4:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 17 in Milford near Anderson and Merwin avenues when the trooper allegedly "failed to obey a traffic signal," said Officer MariLisa Anania, of the Milford Police. The trooper, who was not named, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital, Anania said. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured. The trooper was found at fault in the crash, Anania said.

CT Man Man Nabbed For Stabbing Woman In Face, Holding Her, Police Say A Fairfield County man is behind bars after allegedly stabbing a woman in the face multiple times and then holding her hostage. Quentin Lewis, age 28, of Stamford, was arrested around 3 a.m. Tuesday,  April 12, after he turned himself in to police on a warrant for the incident which took place on Saturday, March 19. The woman was found by a Connecticut state trooper who was driving in the area of Broad Street bleeding from her face, said Capt. Richard Conklin, of the Stamford Police.
