In Fursuit: Search For Cubs Underway After Mama Bear Killed On Taconic State Parkway Despite social media buzz and some help from a couple of drone operators, there’s still no sign of a family of black bear cubs days after their mama was struck and killed on a highway in the region. The Columbia County incident happened Friday evening, April 19, on the Taconic State Parkway near Exit 99 in the hamlet of Spencertown. Students At Syracuse University, UAlbany Driving Home For Thanksgiving Killed In Head-On Crash Two New York college students who were heading home for Thanksgiving were killed in a fiery crash that left a third person with life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews in Columbia County were called at around 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, with reports of a serious crash on State Route 9H in the town Ghent, near the Columbia County Airport. Man Accused Of Burglarizing Connecticut Home A 33-year-old New York man is accused of burglarizing a Connecticut home.  Police responded to a report of a burglary in the Litchfield County town of Norfolk at about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, according to Connecticut State Police.  At the scene, troopers found a hammer and crowbar used to pry open a kitchen window, and the homeowner said he had security footage of the suspect entering an unsecured entryway toward the area where the tools were found, police said.  Police said the suspect fled the scene before troopers arrived.  Authorities later were able to ide…
