New London Man Drives Wrong Way To Pass State Trooper While Under Influence, Police Report A 49-year-old man was accused of driving under the influence after police said he crossed into the wrong lane to pass a Connecticut State Police trooper who was on patrol. The incident happened in New London at about 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, Connecticut State Police said. A trooper was patrolling I-95 northbound on the Gold Star Bridge when a 2000 Toyota Camry passed him by traveling south in the northbound lanes, police said.
