5 Nabbed In CT Traffic Stop With 2 Guns, Police Say
Three men and two juveniles were arrested for allegedly having two guns after being stopped for following each other at a high rate of speed in Fairfield County. The incident took place in New Cannan around 3:10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 17 northbound on New Norwalk Road. According to Lt. Jason Ferraro of the New Canaan PD, an officer on patrol spotted the two vehicles, a Honda CRV and a Jeep Wrangler traveling at a high rate of speed, very close to each other on New Norwalk Road. A tractor-trailer driver was injured during a crash in Connecticut. The crash on I-91 took place in East Windsor around 6 a.m., Friday, Sept. 30 near exit 45. According to the Connecticut State Police, a tractor-trailer was traveling south in the center lane when a Volkswagen in the left lane lost control going around a curve and hit the truck. CT Man Charged After Handgun Found During Traffic Stop, Troopers Say
A 24-year-old man with an expired license was found in illegal possession of a handgun during a Hudson Valley traffic stop, police reported. Fairfield County resident Bryon Bloomfield, of Norwalk, was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm on Friday, July 22, according to New York State Police. A driver was hospitalized with serious injuries following a head-on crash in Connecticut. A 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 was westbound on East Canaan Road in Litchfield County in the town of North Canaan when it crossed the double yellow centerline and struck an eastbound 2012 Volkswagen Jetta at about 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, according to Connecticut State Police. Two teens are facing a host of charges in Fairfield County following the investigation into a pair of crashes that happened minutes apart, authorities announced.
