The fire took place in Bridgeport around 4:20 a.m. on Friday, July 14 at 86 Success Village. According to Capt. Kevin Gilleran of the Bridgeport Police, the Bridgeport and Stratford fire departments, along with police, responded to the complex on a report of a fire. Woman Falls 40 Feet From Stratford Bridge, Lands On Construction Barge A woman who was working on a Fairfield County bridge was seriously injured when she fell through a hole and landed 40 feet below on a construction barge. The incident took place in Stratford around 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Devon Bridge, said Robert Daniel, assistant chief/fire marshal for the Stratford Fire Department. Stratford Fire Rescue, along with Marine 233,  responded to the scene. Fire Chief After Cancer Diagnosis More than $40,000 in donations have been made in just two days to support the family of a Connecticut teenager who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Gabriella Reitmeyer, age 15, was diagnosed with cancer in September of 2019, according to a fundraiser organized for her family. She is a resident of the New Haven County town of Oxford and the daughter of Gina Reitmeyer, an assistant professor of nursing at Sacred Heart University and Douglas Reitmeyer, who is an assistant fire chief with the Stratford Fire Department.
