School District In Region Appoints New Superintendent A veteran educator in New England has been named as the newest superintendent of a Western Massachusetts School District. The School Committee voted unanimously 5-0 to name Dr. Frank Tiano, the interim middle school principal at the Dover-Sherburn Public School in Norfolk County as the newest head of the Ludlow School District, officials announced. Tiano beat out a group of three other prominent educators who are currently in various positions throughout Massachusetts school districts, including administrators and other superintendents. In Hampshire County, all available Northampton police officers responded to the downtown area at approximately noon on Thursday, March 10, where there was a reported stabbing at an area eatery. Massachusetts State Police issued a Silver Alert for 67-year-old Glynis Lanzetta, of Enfield, New Hampshire, who was last seen Saturday afternoon, Jan. 1 driving a green 2015 Subaru Forester with the NH plate 3927494 on Route 9 in the area of West Street in Hadley, heading in the direction of Northampton. Suspect Arrested In Death Of Western Mass Pedestrian, DA's Office Says Police have arrested a Western Mass man in connection with a crash that killed a pedestrian. The Franklin County crash, which killed a 45-year-old Shelburne Falls resident, took place around 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, along Route 2 in Shelburne, said Laurie Loisel, with the Northwestern District Attorney's Office. According to Loisel, the pedestrian, who was walking along Route 2 with a companion was pronounced dead at the scene.
