Yale, New Haven Officials Condemn Desecration Of Menorah City officials and Yale University are speaking out after a masked man climbed a public menorah on the New Haven Green and put a Palestinian flag on the structure. Video of the incident shows a protester dressed in black scaling the menorah and sticking a Palestinian flag on one of the candleholders. New Haven has also decided to delay students returning to school. Students were slated to return on Nov. 9. New Haven is the second Connecticut municipality to decide to rollback its economic restrictions to Phase 2. Windham reverted on Oct. 17, according to state records.
