Alleged Burglar Charged In $25K Darien Jewelry Heist A 29-year-old man has been charged with three Fairfield County burglaries, including one in which he allegedly stole more than $25,000 in jewelry. The burglaries occurred on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, in Darien and Greenwich.  According to Sgt. Mauricio Vigil of the Darien Police, Carlos Andres Buitrago-Pinzon, of Queens, was charged on Monday, July 16, on a warrant while at the Westchester County Detention Center. Smash-Grab Burglary: Suspects Caught On Video After Darien Jewelry Store Incident Four suspects are at large after an overnight burglary at a jewelry store in Fairfield County. It happened at about 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, in Darien at David Harvey Jewelers at 995 Post Rd. (Route 1). Upon arrival, officers discovered a smashed front door and scattered jewelry on the sidewalk. Numerous display cases were smashed inside the store, with jewelry strewn across the floor. Smash-Grab Robbers Make Off With Thousands In Jewels At Trumbull Mall Three masked thieves stole several thousand dollars worth of jewelry from Kay’s Jewelry store at a Fairfield County mall. The incident occurred in Trumbull around 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, at the Trumbull Mall. According to Trumbull Police, the department received several calls reporting the theft, and shoppers were alarmed by the loud noise of the shattering glass that was mistakenly thought to be a gunshot.  It was later determined that no weapons were involved. Man Wanted For Stealing $15K Rolex From Fairfield County Store, Police Say Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly stole a $15,000 Rolex from an area jewelry store. The incident took place around 4 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at a jewelry store on High Ridge Road. According to Stamford Police Sgt. Sean Scanlan, the man walked into the store, asked to see the Rolex, put it on his wrist, then ran out of the store.  The suspect is described as being Black in his 30s to 40s. Jewelry Stolen In Fairfield County Home Burglary Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help in connection with a residential burglary in which jewelry was taken. Ridgefield Police were notified of the burglary around 11:45 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 7, when they responded to Great Pond Road.
