Attempted Murder: Man Critical Following Shooting, Suspect Charged In Bridgeport A 24-year-old Fairfield County man is fighting for his life after being shot in the head on a city street. The incident occurred in Bridgeport around 9:20 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, in the 1200 block of Iranistan Avenue. According to Capt. Kevin Gilleran of the Bridgeport Police officers located the victim with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.  He was transported by AMR ambulance to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition on Thursday, June 20. Man Attacked With Machete In Bridgeport A 26-year-old Fairfield County man is reported to be in stable condition with severe lacerations to his head and face after being attacked with a machete. The incident took place in Bridgeport around 8 p.m., Sunday, May 28 at Seaside Park, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran of the Bridgeport Police. When officers arrived on the scenem they found the Bridgeport resident suffering from a serious physical injury to the face. Armed, Dangerous Man Wanted For Broad Daylight Shooting In Bridgeport Police in Bridgeport are asking for the public's assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with a violent assault.  Tomas Elias LaPorte, age 48, of Bridgeport is wanted for the Wednesday, March 8 broad daylight attack of a man at the intersection of State Street & Iranistan Avenue, said Capt. Police Asking For Help Identifying Persons Of Interest' In Fairfield Homicide Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for information on the homicide of a man who was gunned on a city street last year. Officers from the Bridgeport Police Department responded to the intersection of Iranistan Avenue and Hanover Street early in the morning on Sunday, Aug. 30, where there was a report of a man who had been shot, Bridgeport Police said. Police said that upon arrival, the officers found 24-year-old Bridgeport resident Heriberto Marquez on the ground with a gunshot wound to his head. Man Found Shot To Death While Driving Vehicle In Fairfield County A man was shot to death while driving his vehicle in Fairfield County. The victim was discovered around 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27, when police responded to a report of gunshots fired near 644 Norman Street. Responding officers located a motor vehicle accident in front of 178 Wood Ave., Bridgeport PD Captain Brian Fitzgerald said. The driver of the involved vehicle was unconscious, and officers had to break the window of the vehicle to gain access, Fitzgerald said.
