West Haven Man Dies After Shooting On I-84: Suspects At Large Police are searching for the suspects involved in a broad daylight shooting incident on Interstate 84 in Hartford County that left a 36-year-old man dead.  The incident happened on Friday, Aug. 11 around 2 p.m., when State Police troopers responded to a report of a crash on I-84 East in the area of Exit 48 in Hartford.  According to State Police, arriving troopers determined that two vehicles traveling in the city had entered the highway and that shots had been fired.  Two other vehicles were also involved in the collision, police said.  Troopers soon found the two occ…

Fatal Crash: 27-Year-Old ID'd As Victim On I-84 Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on a stretch of Interstate 84. It happened around 5:50 p.m. Saturday, June 17 in Tolland County, in the town of Vernon. A 2014 Honda RGL was traveling westbound in the center lane and a 2009 Nissan Altima was traveling in the left lane when the Altima sideswiped the pickup truck, then overcorrected causing the Nissan to strike the median and roll over, Connecticut State Police said. Car Slams Into Tractor-Trailer On I-84 In Vernon, Driver Gets Out With Help From Samaritans A person was injured after their vehicle crashed into a tractor-trailer on Interstate 84 in Vernon.  The crash happened on Tuesday, Feb. 14 around 5 p.m. on I-84 eastbound just after the Exit 66 on-ramp, according to the Vernon Fire Department.  Upon arriving, first responders found the car heavily damaged and discovered that the driver had been able to escape from the wreckage with the help of good samaritans who had stopped to help. Pinned Under Tractor-Trailer: Man Dead After Crash On I-84, CT State Police Say Police are looking for witnesses after a man was pinned under a tractor-trailer on Interstate 84 in Connecticut and killed.  The accident happened on Monday, Jan. 23 around 1:20 p.m. just before Exit 69 on I-84 eastbound in Tolland, according to state police.  According to authorities, a Mercedes sedan driven by the man who was killed had been traveling in front of a tractor-trailer in the right lane when it lost control in the snowy conditions. Michael Newman, age 35, was charged with assaulting a police officer, driving under the influence, reckless driving, and three other offenses.
