Covid-19: CT Positive-Test Rate, Hospitalizations Increase; New Breakdown By County, Community
Connecticut saw new increases in both COVID-19 hospitalizations and the positive-test rate, according to data released Tuesday, Jan. 5 by the Connecticut Department of Health.
A total of 30,458 tests were administered on Monday, Jan. 4 and 2,332 came back positive (7.66 percent rate).
There are now 1,149 patients currently hospitalized statewide with the virus, an increase of 38.
There have been 24 additional COVID-related deaths, with the total statewide during the pandemic now at 6,192.

The overall positive COVID-19 rate in Connecticut dipped back below 7 percent, and the state has seen a decrease in hospitalizations, though the death rate continues to climb.
After seeing the infection rate spike to 8.6 percent earlier this week, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont and the Department of Health said that it was back down to 6.63 percent on Thursday, Dec. 10 after dipping to 7.56 percent the day before.

The overall positive COVID-19 rate in Connecticut dipped back below 8 percent, but the state continues to see a rise in new hospitalizations and confirmed positive cases.
After seeing the infection rate spike to 8.6 percent earlier this week, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont and the Department of Health said that it was back down to 7.56 percent on Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Out of 30,279 COVID-19 tests administered on Tuesday, Dec. 8, there were 2,290 positive cases, bringing the total in Connecticut to 140,548 cases since the pandemic first began in early March.

Covid-19: CT Hospitalizations At Highest Level Since Mid-May; Latest Data By County, Community
The number of those hospitalized in Connecticut with COVID-19 is now at the highest levels since mid-May, according to new data covering Thanksgiving Eve Day and Thanksgiving Day.
A total of 1,017 patients are currently hospitalized for COVID in Connecticut. That's an increase of 49.
A total of 71,327 tests were administered on Wednesday, Nov. 25, and Thursday, Nov. 26, with 3,429 coming back positive (4.81 percent positivity rate).
There have been 35 additional deaths.
