Milford Man Drives Wrong-Way, Kills 25-Year-Old Woman, State Police Say Connecticut State Police are seeking witnesses to a fatal wrong-way driver crash on Route 7 in Fairfield County that killed a 25-year-old woman. The collision took place in Fairfield County in Danbury around 1:55 a.m., Sunday in the southbound lane of the highway just north of Exit 7. According to state police, Danielle Dempsey, of Danbury, was driving a 2005 Honda Accord southbound on Route 7 when a 2018 Dodge Challenger driving in the wrong direction on the highway struck her vehicle head-on. Authorities in Litchfield County saw a Dodge Challenger traveling "significantly faster" than surrounding traffic on Route 8 in Torrington at about 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, Connecticut State Police reported. Purse Thief Snatches Two From Vehicles Over Two Days, Ansonia Police Say Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole two purses from vehicles within two days while the victims were present.  The Ansonia Police Department said the two events took place on Saturday, Jan. 30 and Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Cumberland Farms on Pershing Drive and the other from the Stop & Shop on Division Street.
