Convicted Felon Nabbed In Attempted Waterbury Home Invasion, Police Say A convicted felon has been nabbed for an attempted armed home invasion while the family was inside the home. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Sunday, July 31 in Waterbury. Officers responded on a report a man was attempting to force entry into a residential home with a firearm while a family was inside, said Lt. Robert Davis, of the Waterbury Police. During an investigation, officers were able to get a description of the suspect and the vehicle involved, Davis said. Drive-By Shooting Causes Extensive Damage, Police Say A drive-by shooting in Western Massachusetts, the second in several days, caused extensive damage to the victim's home and vehicle. The incident took place in Hampden County around midnight on Wednesday, Aug. 18,  in Holyoke.  Officers responded to Homestead Avenue for reported shots fired, Holyoke PD Captain Matthew Moriarty said. Officers arrived on the scene and secured the area.
