Scooter Rider Critically Injured In New Haven Hit-Run Crash, Police Say A Connecticut scooter rider suffered life-threatening when they were struck by an alleged hit-and-run driver. The incident took place in New Haven around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Officers responded to the intersection of Whalley Avenue and Amity Road and found the rider suffering from critical injuries, said Sgt. Cherelle Carr of the New Haven Police. Carr said the driver of the vehicle evaded the scene.  Officers searched for the evading vehicle without locating it.
