A Connecticut teacher has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a student in the classroom.
On Monday, Dec. 6, at about 2:20 p.m., Police received calls regarding an assault in New Haven at Edgewood School, located at 737 Edgewood Ave.
According to Officer Scott Shumway of the New Haven Police, responding officers learned that a teacher, Deron Beasley, age 42, of New Haven, and a student, had been involved in an altercation in a classroom.
The student sustained minor injuries and was released to a parent, Shumway said.
Beasley was arrested and taken to the New Haven Police Department and charged with the following:
- Risk of injury to a minor
- Reckless endangerment
He was being held on a $15,000 bond before being released by the Bail Commissioner.
