BOE Security Guard Charged With Having Weapon In Vehicle In CT A Fairfield County Board of Education "unarmed" security guard was charged with allegedly having a firearm in his vehicle. The incident took place around 8 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 19 at Newtown High School.  Lt. Scott Smith of the Newtown Police said the department was notified by Newtown High School school security staff for the board regarding concerns that a member of the unarmed security team had a firearm inside his vehicle which was parked in the school parking lot. Man In 'Altered Mental' State Busted With Guns, Drugs In CT, Police Say A Connecticut man who held police at bay for several hours last week has been charged with alleged criminal possession of weapons and drugs. New Haven County resident Eric Warren, age 50, of Ansonia, was arrested on Tuesday, March 14 on a warrant for the Wednesday, March 8 incident at his home. During the original incident, Ansonia Police responded to Warren's home on a report of a person in an altered mental state acting irrationally and armed with a handgun, said Lt. Patrick Lynch.
