A Fairfield County firefighter was taken to the hospital and 14 residents were left homeless following a two-alarm house fire. The blaze started in Danbury just after 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17 on Locust Avenue. Arriving firefighters found a 3-story, multi-family home with heavy smoke emitting from multiple sides, said Capt. Ten Fairfield County residents are in the care of the Red Cross after a house fire destroyed a two-story home with three apartments. The fire occurred in Norwalk during the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 3 a 1 Center Ave. According to Norwalk Assistant Fire Chief Steve Chay, firefighters responded to a two-story house fire and found fire showing through the first-floor windows. The incident took place in Bridgeport around 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 6 on Mountain Grove Street, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management for the city.
