CT Woman Hitting Curbs, Crossing Into Traffic, Nabbed For DUI, Police Say A Fairfield County woman was busted for alleged DUI after she was seen by police sticking the roadside curbs and crossing over the double-yellow line. Norwalk resident Christina Alicea, age 29, was charged on Sunday, April 21, on Post Road in Darien. According to Darien Police Sgt. Dan Skoumbros, a Darien officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Post Road that swerved to the right into the shoulder, striking the curb, and then was seen crossing over the double-yellow line. CT Woman Charged With DUI After Hitting Mailbox, Police Say A Fairfield County woman has been accused of driving drunk after she allegedly backed into a mailbox and failed field sobriety tests. Kiana Diaz, age 26, of Newtown, was busted in Wilton on Range Road at 12:08 a.m. on Monday, April 1. According to Lt. Anna Tornello, of the Wilton Police, police on the scene found that Diaz had backed a 2024 blue Kia Seltos in a mailbox.  During an investigation, it was determined that Diaz was exhibiting several signs of alcohol impairment and was asked to perform field sobriety tests which she failed, Tornello said. 35-Year-Old Woman Charged With DUI After Driving Through Construction Zone In Meriden A 35-year-old Connecticut woman was arrested for driving under the influence after driving through a construction zone that was blocked.  The incident took place in New Haven County around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 in Meriden on I-691. Natasha Cabrera, of Meriden, was arrested after she drove onto an off-ramp at Exit 7 on I-691 that was visibly blocked with cones, lights, and police officers, Connecticut State Police said. Fernanda Vinueza Ayala, age 37, of Stamford, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 31, after Darien Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash. CT Woman Driving Drunk Crashes Into Embankment, Police Say A Fairfield County woman was charged after police said she drove with a BAC nearly three times the legal limit. Police received two reports of a vehicle driving erratically at about 8:50 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, according to the Darien Police Department.  The second caller told police that the vehicle ran off the roadway and struck an embankment on Middlesex Road near Colony Road in Darien, authorities said.  Police said officers located the driver, identified as 44-year-old Laura Gallo-Swimm, of New Canaan, in the vehicle.
