Meriden Storm Drain Explosion Leads To Bomb Scare
A storm drain explosion in a Connecticut city led to a bomb scare after a suspicious device was found. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 6 p.m., Mondy, April 29, in the area of Cross Street at Women's Way in Meriden. According to Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police, officers found smoke coming from the drain and determined it did not appear overly large. No victims were located, and no one appeared injured in the incident. Four employees of a Norwalk building warehouse suffered possible inhalation injuries following an explosion. The incident took place in Norwalk around 2:50 p.m., Thursday, April 13 at a warehouse building located at 16 Muller Ave. The initial call was for an explosion with a chemical release, said Timothy Reardon, deputy chief of the Norwalk Fire Department.
