Authorities are investigating an early morning crash involving a tractor-trailer in northern Connecticut that left a 56-year-old man dead. The incident happened in Windham County on Friday, July 21 around 3:45 a.m., when the tractor-trailer traveling northbound on Interstate 395 in the area of Exit 45 in Putnam lost control and drove off the left shoulder of the highway, according to state police. Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer Spills Fuel On Snow-Covered I-84 Stretch
Fuel had to be cleaned from a snow-covered stretch of Interstate 84 in Connecticut following a crash involving a tractor-trailer. The crash happened in Tolland County on Tuesday morning, Feb. 28, when an Amazon tractor-trailer crashed on Interstate 84 westbound in Willington between Exit 71 and Exit 72, according to state police. The crash happened southbound between exits 14 and 13 at 5 a.m. A tractor-trailer truck in the breakdown lane was waiting to have a tire repaired when another tractor-trailer struck it, Norwalk Fire Department Deputy Chief Edward Prescott said. Police have released the identity of a 35-year-old Massachusetts man who was killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck. James Lucas, of Tyngsborough in northern Middlesex County, was identified as the driver of the 1989 GMC Sierra pickup who was pronounced dead at the scene of the Worcester County crash on Saturday, Feb. 5, Massachusetts State Police said. A section of I-84 has reopened following a fiery rollover crash by a tractor-trailer that spilled lumber across the roadway in Northern Fairfield County. As of 3 p.m., westbound lanes of travel had reopened, with eastbound lanes still closed to traffic, state police said. Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Hours-Long I-95 Delays
This story has been updated. There were delays of around two hours on a stretch of I-95 after a tractor-trailer crash in Fairfield County. The crash happened on the northbound side Friday morning, Aug. 21 at around 4 a.m., initially shutting down all lanes in Darien between Noroton Avenue/Exit 10 and Route 1/Exit 11. One lane reopened around daybreak with traffic backed up to Harvard Avenue/West Avenue (Exit 6) in Stamford. The highway did not fully reopen until the end of the morning commute.
