Two Killed In Head-On Worcester County Crash Police are investigating a head-on crash that killed two people in the region. It happened at approximately 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23 in Worcester County. Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to State Police-Athol responded to Route 2 in Athol. Athol and Orange Fire/EMS and Police also responded to the scene. 59-Year-Old Killed In Two-Vehicle Worcester County Crash, State Police Say An investigation is underway after a 59-year-old Massachusetts man was killed in a two-vehicle crash. Troopers received reports of a crash on Route 2 eastbound near Exit 95 in Fitchburg shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, Massachusetts State Police reported. State Police said Fitchburg Fire and EMS also responded to the scene. Defective Exhaust Leads To Drug Trafficking, Gun Charges For Duo In Massachusetts Two men are facing charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a firearm, ammunition, and various drugs.  Massachusetts State Police reported that a trooper was in his cruiser in Worcester County on Route 2 in Westminster at 12:20 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, when a Ford SUV with a defective exhaust passed him. Police said the defective exhaust caused excessive and unnecessary noise. Suspect Arrested In Death Of Western Mass Pedestrian, DA's Office Says Police have arrested a Western Mass man in connection with a crash that killed a pedestrian. The Franklin County crash, which killed a 45-year-old Shelburne Falls resident, took place around 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, along Route 2 in Shelburne, said Laurie Loisel, with the Northwestern District Attorney's Office. According to Loisel, the pedestrian, who was walking along Route 2 with a companion was pronounced dead at the scene.
