Fire Heavily Damages CT Town Official's Home A fire ripped through the home of a Fairfield County town official, leaving the residence uninhabitable. The incident occurred in Ridgefield at the home of Town Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman Robert Hendrick around 10:30 p.m., Thursday, March 21, on East Ridge Road. According to Ridgefield Fire Chief Jerry Myers, firefights spent more than five hours at the scene battling the blaze across the street from East Ridge Middle School and had to return on Friday, March 22 for a flare-up. CT House Fire Sends Firefighter To Hospital, 14 Residents Displaced A Fairfield County firefighter was taken to the hospital and 14 residents were left homeless following a two-alarm house fire. The blaze started in Danbury just after 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17 on Locust Avenue. Arriving firefighters found a 3-story, multi-family home with heavy smoke emitting from multiple sides, said Capt. Kevin Lunnie of the Danbury Fire Department. As crews made entry into the home they found a significant fire in the basement extending into the upper floors, Lunnie said. Fire Heavily Damages CT Home, Displaces Residents A Fairfield County home was heavily damaged during a fire overnight as snow continued to come down in the area that received more than 18 inches of snow.  The fire took place around 11:08 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 6 Sage Road, in the Lake Waubeeka area of Danbury, said James Gagliardo, communications director for the Danbury Fire Department.
