Missing Stamford Man Found Dead In Wooded Area In New Canaan A missing Fairfield County man was found dead in a wooded area during a search by police. The incident occurred in New Canaan shortly after 12 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9. According to Lt. Marc DeFelice of the New Canaan Police, during the late evening hours of Monday, July 08, the New Canaan Police Department began assisting the Stamford Police Department in a missing persons investigation.  The missing person, a Stamford man, was last reported seen working at a house under renovation during the afternoon hours in New Canaan, DeFelice said.
