CT Woman Attacks Police, Threatens To Beat Up Bus Driver, Cops Say
A Connecticut woman has been charged with assault on a police officer after threatening to beat up a state transit bus driver. New Haven County resident Alaja Dixon, age 21, of New Haven, was arrested on Sunday, June 4 in Milford. According to Milford Police, officers were dispatched to 1588 Boston Post Road for a disturbance on a CT Transit bus. The bus driver told officers that Dixon came onto the bus and immediately became disruptive and threatened to beat up the driver, police said. Man Punches Female Conductor 30 Times In Fairfield County, MTA Says
A female Metro-North conductor was assaulted by a Fairfield County man after being told to move to a different car, MTA officials said. The conductor instructed Bridgeport resident Elijah Sampson that he was sitting in a car that was closed to the public at approximately 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, and he was prompted to move to an open car. Officials said that Sampson refused, and an engineer made contact with MTA police to meet at an upcoming station. 19: Trains, NYC Subways To Be Shut Down Nightly For Disinfections
The Metropolitan Transit Authority is taking drastic measures to help clean up the public transit system for essential workers during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. During his daily COVID-19 briefing, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and MTA officials announced that Metro-North, LIRR, and New York City subway trains and stations would be disinfected every 24 hours to curb the spread of the virus.
