Officer Severely Bitten By Woman During Arrest In Region, Police Say A Western Massachusetts police officer was seriously injured after being bitten by a woman while off-duty. The incident took place in Hamden County around 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 22, in Ludlow. The attack occurred when an off-duty Ludlow police officer entered the Big Y Supermarket on Center Street in Ludlow and observed suspicious activities by a woman inside the store, said Chief Daniel J. Officer Struck By Vehicle On Roadway In Region A large search is underway by Massachusetts State Police after a police officer was hit by a car while attempting to arrest a suspect. The incident happened in Worcester County around 10:30 a.m. on Mechanic Street in Fitchburg. According to the state police, a local police officer who is part of an MSP task force was injured after being struck by a vehicle.
