CT Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault Of Student For Second Time A music teacher has been charged with alleged sexual assault of a minor student in Northern Fairfield County. Richard Neal, age 69, of Newtown, was charged on Thursday, Jan. 4 by the Newtown Police Department. According to Det. Lt. Liam Seabrook of the Newtown Police, Neal was arrested following an investigation into having an inappropriate relationship who was a minor at the time. Neal was arrested last year on the same charges with another student, Seabrook said. Man, 60, Killed When Motorcycle Crashes Into Sign In Ridgefield A 60-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Northern Fairfield County. The crash happened just after 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 1 on a stretch of Route 35 in Ridgefield, police said. The victim, identified as John Lienhardt, 60, of Cos Cob, was traveling eastbound when his motorcycle went off the roadway, striking a road sign, Ridgefield Police said. He was then treated at the scene and transported to the Danbury Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.  The investigation is ongoing.

Thomas Spitzfaden, of Danbury, said he recently invited two buddies to go fishing when they maneuvered the boat to pick up what they thought was a log floating in the water. "We left my dock in Danbury and decided to head up north into New Milford," Spitzfaden said.
