CT Home Invasion: Man Forces Way Into Residence With Children Inside A Fairfield County man is behind bars after allegedly vandalizing several cars and forcing his way into an apartment with people inside, including children. The incident took place in Greenwich around 10:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14 in the area of Mill Street and Henry Street. According to Greenwich Police Deputy Chief Mark Zuccerella, officers responded to the area on a report of a man, later identified as Edwin Gutierrez-Vasco, age 52, of Greenwich, stabbing with a knife and damaging vehicles that were parked on the side of the street. Car Wash Employee Run Over By Customer In Greenwich A car wash employee suffered serious injuries after being run over by a customer in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Greenwich at the Splash Car Wash at 73 Post Road around 10:20 a.m., on Monday, July 10. An initial investigation determined that an employee of the car wash was struck by a vehicle exiting the wash. The vehicle then continued crossing Post Road where it collided with another vehicle's driver's side, said Lt. Patrick Smyth of the Greenwich Police. 47-Year-Old 911 Dispatcher Killed In I-95 Crash Connecticut State Police are searching for witnesses after a fatal two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Greenwich. Colin D. Kennedy, age 47, of Stamford, was killed around 1:45 a.m., Friday, June 30 on I-95 after drifting out of his lane and eventually hitting another car head-on, said the Connecticut State Police.  According to Stamford Police Assistant Chief Richard Conklin, Kennedy was a 911 dispatcher who has worked with the city since October 2005. Patient Accused Of Assaulting Staffer At CT Hospital A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly attacking an area hospital employee and making threats. Brian Dougherty, age 51, of Stamford, was arrested around 3:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, after Greenwich Police Officers responded to Greenwich Hospital, authorities said. Dougherty assaulted a member of the hospital staff and made threats, said Greenwich PD Capt. Mark E. Zuccerella. He was charged with assaulting a public health worker, threatening, and disorderly conduct. Dougherty was held on a $10,000 bond which he was unable to post.

Fire Reported At Greenwich Hospital, Officials Say A fire has been reported at an area hospital treating many with patients with novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The blaze began around 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, at Greenwich Hospital, the Greenwich Fire Department said on Twitter. The fire was reported in a generator area and involved some debris in a shaftway, the department said. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes, officials said on Twitter.
