Man, Dog Rescued From Balcony In Apartment Fire In Region Firefighters in Hampden County plucked a man and his dog from their balcony after a fire broke out in a Chicopee apartment on a rainy Sunday morning, July 2, officials said.  Fire crews were called to Chicopee Housing Authority apartments on Britton Street around 4:45 a.m., Chicopee fire authorities said.  Firefighters found a man and his dog trapped on a third-story balcony of the building and used a 35-foot ladder to rescue them from the flames.  No other injuries were reported, but  the fire displaced 10 people.  Firefighters are investigating what sparked the …

Officers Rescue Two CT Women From Burning House, Police Say Two Connecticut women were rescued from their burning home as flames surrounded them. The fire took place around 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15, in New Haven County at a home on Spring Street in Ansonia. Two Rescued After Apartment Fire Breaks Out In Region Two people were rescued from a third-floor apartment in Western Massachusetts during a two-alarm fire. The fire started around 3 a.m., Monday, Dec. 27 in Springfield at 858 Belmont Ave. Springfield Fire Department officials said two people were rescued from the third floor using ladders. One of those rescued was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, another was treated at the scene, the department said. Firefighters had the fire under control in about an hour. The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad is currently investigating.
