Moose Struck, Killed By Car On Route 15 In North Haven Days after state officials put out warning for drivers to be on the lookout for moose along the state's highways, one was hit and killed by a vehicle. The incident took place in New Haven County around 6:50 a.m., Wednesday, May 17 in North Haven on northbound Route 15 -- known as the Wilbur Cross Parkway -- near exit 63, said the Connecticut State Police. The driver of the vehicle was not injured but the moose was killed, state police said. Multiple Black Bear Sightings Reported In Westport There have been multiple new black bear sightings reported as the weather continues to warm up. The Westport Police Department said that on Monday, June 29, it received multiple reports of black bears making the rounds in the northern section of town. Police said that at least one bear cub and one large male bear were spotted by local residents. The bears were not acting aggressively, and seemed to be acting normally.
