The mounds of snow at Holly Hill are piled high from last week's snowstorm. There may be no more room for snow if another snowstorm hits, Highway Superintendent Joseph Roberto was quoted as saying in Greenwich Time.
Road crews pick up and move 600 cubic yards of snow nightly to clean roads, sidewalks and lots of the slushy mess. A total of 12,536 cubic yards of now had already filled the Holly Hill Transfer Station off West Putnam Avenue before last Wednesday's storm hit.
