As high tide coincides with heavy rains, flooding of basements and roadways is possible in low-lying coastal areas, the weather service warned. It has categorized the flooding impact as minor.

The small craft advisory is for points on the Long Island Sound west of New Haven through Friday afternoon. Sustained wind speeds of 15 knots and gusts of up to 25 knots will create waves of 2 to 3 feet.

With a nor'easter passing through the area, the forecast calls for breezy conditions with rain and temperatures in the low 60s until the storm finally clears Sunday, according to Accuweather.com
