CT Woman, 35, Killed In Crash That Injured 2 Others A 35-year-old Connecticut woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash that injured two others. The collision took place on Sunday, Jan. 28, in New Haven County at West Main Street at Watertown Avenue, in Waterbury. According to Lt. Ryan Bessette of the Waterbury Police, officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of West Main Street at Watertown Avenue involving a Honda Element and Ford Escape. Man Nabbed 7 Years After Raping CT Woman While Posing As Cop, Police Say After seven years, a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Connecticut while posing as a police officer has been caught. Niamkey Amichia, age 33, of Pierce County, Washington, wanted for a New Haven County sexual assault in Waterbury in Nov. 2016, was arrested by the Pierce County Sheriff's Department for an unrelated sexual assault. When police in Washington ran Amichia's DNA profile they got a hit for the Waterbury crime, said Lt. Ryan Bessette of the Waterbury Police. Amichia was extradited to Waterbury on Friday, Dec. 22. Man, Age 32, Killed In CT Shooting, Police Say Police in Connecticut are investigating the shooting death of a 32-year-old man killed early on Mother's Day. The murder took place in New Haven County around 1:30 a.m., Sunday, May 8  in Waterbury in the area of 173 Willow St. When officers arrived to check out a complaint of shots fired, they found the man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, said Lt. CT Man Involved In Multi-State Drug/Gun Trafficking Sentenced A 37-year-old man who was involved in trafficking firearms and narcotics between Connecticut and Maine has been sentenced. Lonnie Joyner, of Waterbury, was sentenced on Wednesday, May 4, to 10 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release, according to Leonard Boyle, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
