Know Them? Police Want Help Identifying Those Involved In CT Beach Brawl Police are asking the public for help identifying a group of beachgoers involved in a brawl at a Connecticut beach.  The brawl took place in New Haven County around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 30 in Milford at Walnut Beach. When Milford Police responded to a report of numerous fights among a crowd as large as 500 people they were "quickly overwhelmed by the large, unruly crowd," the Milford Police said. Several officers were assaulted and two were knocked to the ground and had their body cameras stolen from their uniforms, police said. The department is looking to pursue criminal charge…

Large CT Beach Brawl Leads To Officers Being Assaulted, Police Say Police had to shut down a public beach after extremely large crowds of some 500 people became unruly and numerous fights broke out in which officers were allegedly attacked in Connecticut. The incident took place in New Haven County in Milford at Walnut Beach around 6:30 p.m. When Milford Police arrived at the beach and attempted to address the problems, they became quickly overwhelmed by the large, unruly crowd and were assaulted, said the Milford Police Department. Woman Suspected Of Starting Beach, Brush Fire Is Arrested Police grabbed a suspect connected to one of 2020’s Milford brush fires. On Sunday, Dec. 13, Milford Police arrested a Stratford woman on an active warrant. Colleen Gallagher, 49, of Stratford, was taken into police custody around 9:20 p.m. Sunday. Gallagher allegedly set the brush fire at Walnut Beach in January this year, police said. Gallagher has been charged with reckless burning, criminal mischief in the third degree, and breach of peace in the second degree, police said. A court date has been scheduled for Gallagher, Jan. 18, 2021.
